Crema Compass — Privacy

Crema Compass has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. This website sets no cookies.
Location
If you tap "Use my location", the app asks iOS once for your location. It sends those coordinates — or the coordinates of a place or area you chose — plus the search radius to crema-api.lucasfox.dev to find nearby cafes. The service uses them only to answer that request and does not store them. The Home Screen widget sends only the coordinates of the preset area you picked.
Place search uses Apple MapKit. Apple's privacy policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
On your device
Saved cafes and saved places stay on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
Server logs
The cafe service and this website do not keep access logs of requests: no IP addresses, coordinates or search history are recorded. The server keeps limited system error logs for reliability, retained for up to 7 days.
Cafe data
Scores are calculated from the star ratings and dates of public Google reviews; reviewer names and review text are not collected or shown. Opening hours come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright.
Children
Crema Compass is not directed at children, and no personal information is collected from them.

Updates to this policy are posted on this page with a new date.
